About Hans-Jaap

Hans-Jaap Moes founded Socrates Consulting in 1987. He left AT&T and Philips Telecommunications, HR Manager and Assistant to the VP of HR. The focus of Socrates was on Recruitment, Training and HR-Consulting. Projects were carried out for various clients, including the development of an HRM study for the University of Amsterdam, the training of more than 100 start-ups for the IMK (Institute for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises) and many training courses at De Baak and Stichting PION. Leadership programs were organized in the Himalayas and small businesses were supported with "home-coaching". In 1998, Socrates and its employees were acquired by Deloitte Consulting. Hans-Jaap became Senior Director EMEA for Deloitte Consulting, leading a European HR team of more than 25 HR professionals. He supported the growth of Deloitte Consulting in Europe to 3000 consultants. After another five years as HR Director at Quest software, Hans-jaap returned to his own Socrates in 2008 and focused more and more on coaching and consulting. The name Socrates was chosen because of the Socratic dialogue and elements of it that are incorporated into the methodology of coaching and consultancy towards our clients and coachees. In our organization. With an accreditation as a Positive Health coach, cancer patients and their loved ones are also supported. Since 2020, new partnerships have been established to grow the organization and propagate effective concepts about coaching. In 2024 Hans-Jaap graduated as a Master in Executive Coaching at Ashridge Business School in the UK.
